Industrial Addictive Behavior. Research on Work Environment Impact on Smoking Behavior

The research analyses the addictive behavior as in direct relationship with the working environment in which the people not only act as planned and expected, but also re-act – a new placement-in-act of the latent emotions brought to life by the working physical and the informal environment.

To discover the unspoked emotions and generated behaviors and to project a valid conclusion that can be subsequently generalized, a deep revealing qualitative study was performed with employees working in one of the most challenging businesses: industrial manufacturing.

The conclusions of this research done in 2018 for The University of Sheffield remains still valid today.

Maybe the recurrence of this raised flag will bring awareness on a subject that should have triggered meaningful changes years ago.
