Teologica is the third and culminating volume of the great trilogy and masterpiece by theologian Hans Urs von Balthasar, completing the triptych that includes The Glory of God and Teodramatic. Teologica is a distinct branch of theology; it is concerned not so much with what humans say about God, but rather with what God says about Himself. Balthasar does not address the truth about God until he first reflects on the beauty of God (The Glory of God). He then captivates us with his reflections on the great drama of our salvation and on the goodness and mercy of the Lord who saves us (Theodramatica). In this work, the author focuses on the truth that God reveals about Himself, which is not something abstract or theoretical, but rather the concrete and mysterious richness of God’s being as a personal and loving God.
